Spa Expert
On the plus side, Maria loves TV, especially cooking shows. But, she has no experience being on TV, other than a short and sweet appearance on City TV's Breakfast Television Vancouver with host Dawn Chubai and the infamous Jeanne Beker in October, 2010. Please see her blog post, Good Morning Breakfast Television Vancouver for the full story.
Maria has an English degree from the University of Western Ontario and a diploma in Esthetics from the Aveda Institute Victoria. She is a certified esthetician in the province of British Columbia.
Maria had her first stage debut as the character of "Euphoria" in a high school production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" for which the audience clapped a lot. Appearing in this play also links Maria to Kevin Bacon in less than 6 degrees!
Since then, Maria has taken the odd improv class and was briefly a member of the Impromaniacs Improv group in Victoria, BC. She was also a member of Toastmasters International.
Currently, Maria is the owner of Homespunspa, a mobile spa company that brings the spa experience home to you.
Homespunspa is also a party-planning service that promotes recipes for sleep and beauty using natural ingredients. Maria has developed several home spa recipes from facial masques to cuticle creams and has written the book, "How to Throw a Home Spa Pajama Party the Homespunspa Way," which is available through her website, www.homespunspa.com.
To see Maria in action interviewing her friend Donna, a fitness instructor, please check out the video, "Who's Up for a Bootcamp."
Here's another video that introduces Maria and Homespunspa. As a beauty blogger and esthetician, Maria would be pleased to share her passion for everything spa on your tv show, podcast, event, or radio show. Please contact Maria today.
